Population DecreasedPeregrine Falcons nests are on cliffs and in holes. This means other animals such as raccoon and Horned Owls steal the falcons eggs. Falcons leave the eggs weeks at a time so there is a high risk in egg stealing! This is not the main reason they are endangered but is a small factor.

Why a Dark Brown Color? From this problem we have created an egg with a darker color to blend in with its surroundings causing other animals to not spot the eggs. The eggs are made of calcium carbonate and still will be but the egg will hold more brown pigment called protoporphyrin. With more color to the egg the egg will look like dirt to the predators and be camouflaged.
